The first year-round Aquapark Tatralandia in Slovakia is situated near the town of Liptovský Mikuláš, at the northern shore of the Liptovská Mara reservoir, within a stone´s throw from the hiking and skiing centre of the Liptov region - Jasná in Low Tatras. Relax in mineral water
Aquapark Tatralandia - the new water park for relax and entertainment - was introduced to the Liptov region, to its inhabitants and visitors, in July 2003. The new thermal aquapark is at the same time the largest park of its kind in Slovakia. The heart of the whole Tatralandia is the thermal water spring deep down under the ground, with its water streaming up from the depth of 2,500 m with the temperature of 60.7 0C. The thermal water that fills up the pools has a unique position among the waters of Liptov. It contains a share of sea waters from the ancient sea that spread over the Liptov valley about 40 million years ago. The water park is located in the gorgeous setting of the Tatra mountains, with a view of the entire mountain range of Low Tatras - Jasná, the distinctively bent Kriváň peak, the Choč mountains, as well as the Liptovská Mara reservoir. Everybody longing for rest anytime during the year can experience wonderful moments in Tatralandia. You can enjoy five pools with nice warm water (36 – 38 0C), offering a number of relax attractions - water massage, massage showers, underwater springs, mushroom-shaped fountain, water swing, water beds and currents, water volleyball and basketball, climbing wall with a waterfall, as well as children´s slides. The warm water is the perfect solution for everybody, whose tired body needs to relax. The warm mineral water of Tatralandia has beneficial effects on the limbs and the respiratory tract, and enables the year round operation of the water park. The relax in the thermal water of Aquapark Tatralandia is a great idea after a hiking trip in autumn or after skiing in winter.
Catering services
The water park designers thought of every single detail and made sure that the pools can be accessed directly from the building and from the "wet" restaurant, thus contributing to maximum bathing comfort also on frosty days. The "wet" restaurant with an inventive design, where the seating overlooks the pools separated from the restaurant by glass walls is an interesting feature particularly for those wanting to rest, but also for the caring parents and grandparents who, sitting in the cosy restaurant, can observe their children playing in the thremal pools, or just watch the autumn or winter country.
AquaPark Surroundings
The surroundings of Aquapark Tatralandia offer excellent conditions for holiday-makers all the year round. Demanding as well as less demanding tourists can use a wide selection of hiking trails, the Demänovská valley nearby invites the visitors to admire its beautiful karst formations of the Demänovské caves, the breath of the past can be felt on the archaeological site Havránok dating back to the period of Celtic settlement, folk architecture has been preserved in the open-air museum in Pribylina. The Liptov region is an excellent place for adrenaline sports such as paragliding and rafting. Winter sports enthusiasts will be pleased by Liptov´s offer of the best skiing slopes in Slovakia, the extreme skiing fans, snowboarders and cross-country skiers will also find this picturesque corner of Slovakia an ideal destination.
